Havana. Nov. 25.- Esteban Llorach Ramos will be greatly missed in the spaces intended to address literature for children and young people, or in which serious issues associated with the edition of books are debated, for being in those areas renowned specialist. A cerebral ischemia yesterday ended his life, at 69 years of age, an event that enmeshes Cuban culture.
Deserving of the National Edition Award in 2003 and Member of the Uneac, Llorach is the author of an editorial work of exquisite invoice. Among his works include: The open wound. Poetry and prose, Gabriela Mistral, (Selection, prologue, chronology and notes); There is already coffee; Madness of love, Renée Méndez Capote; On the crest of the wave, Excilia Saldaña, and Fables of Jean de la Fontaine, just to name a few of the most recent, although figures such as José MartÃ, Giovanni Boccaccio, Rabindranath Tagore, César Vallejo and Pablo Neruda, between Many others have been under your care.
«Esteban Llorach was an artist of editorial work. A book out of his hands was a delivery of sensitivity and human enlargement. He was a professional who worked under the concept of the sublime. (...) In the social network, Alberto Marrero, president of the Association of Writers of the Uneac, referred to Llorach as "a man of books and literature with more than 200 anthologies in charge and other essential texts", while the poet Alex Pausides expressed his farewell "to the indefatigable worker, to the promoter of the letters for children and young people, to the entire polemicist, to the companion of a thousand days and a thousand fights for Cuban literature and literature", and remembered him as a "collaborator lucid and committed â€, deserving of“ this moment of memory and silence before his departure â€.
