Cuba host of the world organ and tissue donor day

Havana, Nov. 22.- Cuba hosts this year's activities for the World Organ, Tissue and Cell Donor Day, which is celebrated today with the aim of raising public awareness about this issue.

The Cuban Health Minister, José Angel Portal, highlighted the date in his account on the Twitter social network, and expressed satisfaction that the island was the venue for the meeting of the Ibero-American Donation and Transplant Network, held since the 18th in the La Pradera International Health Center, in this capital.

"Having hosted this meeting will allow us to identify areas for improvement in the Program (National Transplant Program), and in turn, call the population about the importance of organ and tissue donation," said the head of health.
