US Blockade against Venezuela Affects Digital Platforms

US Blockade against Venezuela Affects Digital PlatformsVenezuela, Aug 22 - The blockade imposed by the United States against Venezuela makes the South American nation the object of an unconventional technological attack, reflected in digital platforms, said Kenny Ossa, president of the National Center for Information Technology.

In statements to Venezolana de Television, Ossa said that the country is suffering unconventional warfare and cyber espionage by the United States, which could even limit technological updates.

He clarified, however, that this denunciation does not seek to generate terror, 'but to create awareness to develop our own technological system.'

Ossa pointed out that the national government is working to protect the nation's sovereignty, and detailed the recent discovery of a virus called Machete, which affects many countries but whose greatest number of infections has been in Venezuela.

However, Venezuela expects to advance in its technological platform in the future to avoid such excessive attacks, he concluded.(Prensa Latina)
