Canada Leads Tourist Markets to Cuba

Havana, Apr 30Â -Â Canada leads the way in number of tourists sent to Cuba, according to a report released today by the National Bureau of Statistics and Information (ONEI).

Canada, with 49.3 percent of the total tourist arrivals between January and March this year, is followed by Germany (4.2 percent), France (3.7), Italy, England, Argentina, Russia, Mexico, Spain, and Venezuela, the report says.
The northern country has been the leader for many years in the number of vacationers traveling to this Caribbean nation.
The ONEI report states that some 995,571 visitors arrived in Cuba during the first three months of this year. In March alone, nearly 359,384 tourists vacationed here. Cuba has more than 60,000 rooms in some 300 hotels nationwide, and authorities have announced the possibility of serving more than three million travellers by year's end.
