Alberto Velasquez López, who is also a vice president from the José Martí Cultural Society center in Las Tunas province, said that Cuba is identified worldwide by the thought of its national hero José Martí which was focused on the mankind’s well-being.

“When he talked about the Latin American thought, he did it from the Latin America perspective and from the Cuban humanist thought that should continue expanding in order to create that a very likely and much better world.†Alberto Velasquez López said.

Alberto Velásquez López recommended the Mexicans to read the legacy left by José Martí: the imperial hegemony is against all the nations that the US Empire wants to subjugate.

“The historical memory should be also preserved in the local culture given the fact that the one who does not know where he/she comes from, it could be difficult to know where to go to.†Alberto Velásquez López concluded.
