Civil Aviation Day Observed in CamagüeyCamagüey, Feb 15. – The Solidarity Committee for the Release of the Cuban Five, made up by members of the Cuban Airport and Aeronautical Services Company (ECASA), sent yesterday a strong message of support to René, Fernando, Gerardo, Ramón and Antonio while marked the 54th anniversary of civil aviation in Cuba.

 

During the ceremony, a group of outstanding employees were awarded the José María Pérez Capote Medal, which is the highest distinction the Cuban Civil Aviation Institute confers. For its part, the Ignacio Agramonte International Airport got a recognition because many of its staff contributed donating blood voluntarily to the public health.    

Pavel Miranda, representative in Camagüey of the National Union of Transportation Workers, highlighted the results ECASA has achieved in this province and encouraged all attendees to improve the quality of the services this company provides.  

The official also urged to strengthen the internal functioning of the trade union sections, while acknowledged the work of men and women who have been working in this sector for over 20 years.

As part of the agenda marking the 54th anniversary of the Cuban civil aviation, a national and international air cargo centre will be opened on Saturday and a group of apartments will be handed out to workers.

ECASA is the main air transport business entity of Cuba’s civil aviation system.
