Prominent Cuba Trova Singer Santiago Feliu Dies

Prominent Cuba Trova Singer Santiago Feliu Dies Havana, Feb 12 - Prominent Cuban trova singer Santiago Feliu, part of Cuba's Nueva Trova Movement, died of a heart attack today in this capital at the age of 51.

 

Other renowned musicians of the island such as Silvio Rodriguez and Carlos Varela shared in the social networks the shock of hundreds of Cubans who spread the news on the streets, still unsure of the news as Feliu was so young and it seemed unbelievable.

A local television channel confirmed the fatal heart attack of the Trova singer who since the age of five, held a guitar the other way round and was never able to turn it the traditional way.

Feliu performed along with important exponent of the two Trova generations, such as Noel Nicola, Frank Delgado, Luis Eduardo Aute, Luis Pastor, Leon Gieco, Silvio Rodriguez, and Vicente Feliu, among others.
